National Flag Adoption Day Wishes Quotes – On 22nd July 1947, the tricolor was adopted as India’s National Flag by the Constituent Assembly. Hence, since then, 22nd July is celebrated as India’s Nation Flag Adoption Day. The tricolor was part of India’s independence struggle and hence, from a freedom symbol, it became our nation’s pride. Pingali Venkayya, a freedom fighter, designed the flag in 1923 and soon it became a symbol of the Swaraj Movement. It was first hoisted at Nagpur in April 1923 to pay tribute to Jallianwala Bagh martyrs. In 1931, the tricolor flag was accepted as a flag of the nation and represented India’s freedom struggle. In 1947, when India was set free from British rule, the tricolor was adopted as the Indian National Flag.
