Amorphous Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is a soft, siliceous rock that forms naturally in freshwater rivers and lakes and is easy to break up into a fine, white off-white powder. Its composition mainly includes silica (SiO2) along with small amounts of other minerals. The “amorphous” label refers to the fact that DE is not crystalline in structure, which contributes to its beneficial properties, especially in agricultural, horticultural, and floricultural applications.
