Facebook To Begin Streaming Music Videos As A Direct Challenge To Youtube

At the moment licensing rights forbid record label artists from putting up full-length music videos on Facebook. But this is to end soon. Facebook is all set to launch music video streaming on its platform from August 2020 in USA as a direct challenge to current giant YouTube. It was reported by Bloomberg in December 2019, that Facebook is in discussion with Universal, Sony and Warner over the rights of music video publication in its platform. Previously all artists under contract with these major music labels in US were prohibited from sharing full-length music videos on Facebook. All they could share was a short clip of the video.
