To enter the Hong Kong market, a manufacturer/ distributor needs to indicate that their product complies with the established standards. However, different standards have been implemented on different product types, HKCA certification is applicable on telecom equipment.
OFCA has transferred the authority to the private certification bodies termed as Local Certification Bodies (LCBs). Now the approval is granted on the basis of an international standard test report and other technical documents which would be submitted. If these confirms that a product meets the certification requirements, HKCA type approval will be issued.
