Modalert 200 (modafinil) is thought to have a low risk of abuse and dependence, especially when compared to other stimulants like amphetamines. In the US, it is considered a Schedule IV controlled drug because of its low potential for abuse. However, most people who use it do not become physically dependent on it.
But some people may become mentally dependent on Modalert, especially if they use it to stay awake or get more work done when they\’re not sick. Over time, this dependence can make someone think they can\’t do their best without the drug. To keep this risk to a minimum, it\’s important to only take Modalert as your doctor tells you to and not increase the amount or frequency on your own.
