The NRCS is an authority of the Department of Trade, Industry, and Competition (DTIC), established with the motive to administer the obligatory specifications and other technical regulations to preserve the safety of humans, environment, and ensure fair trade practices.
Its fundamental purpose is to create the technical regulations and specifications, including maximise compliance of regulated products and services.
Moreover, its vision is to be a credible and respected regulator for the protection of the public, including ensuring protection of the economy and the environment. In a nutshell, NRCS act as a regulator is to make sure businesses produce, import and sell products or services that are not harmful to consumers and the environment.
Furthermore, it also provides regulatory functions for the creation of the industry to ensure building safety, structural stability and uniform interpretation of the NBR and BS Acts.
